Bart Hermans
Though I once upon a time graduated as a three dimensional artist (this happening in a world that existed mostly outside digital screens) my heart really lies in drawing. The room with endless views called a simple sheet of paper.
Whatever I invent, imagine or design all starts out at some time as a marvellous jump into the deep - a curl leading up to a pose, a pose being a frozen vessel for an urgent message.
All which may develop into a Dia de los Muertos skeleton dressed up in Dutch traditional garbs or a geometric maze to loose one's way in.
To create is for me just as essential as breathing and it's that essential process that I try to convey with my work, graphical or otherwise.
Expressing a deepfelt sense of wonder, with a nudge and a wink.
